Stay dry and warm! Water conducts heat away from the body much quicker than air, so even diving in a thicker 7mm exposure suit won't keep you as warm as diving with a drysuit. Extend your diving season by opening your diving experience to the world's cooler regions for some incredible diving. 

Details:

• Must be at least 10yrs old to participate.
• Must hold a minimum of PADI Open Water Certification (or equivalent from another agency).
• Must complete PADI eLearning (approx 3hrs).

The course consists of 3 main phases:

• Knowledge Development: We use PADI's drysuit curriculum to introduce you to the drysuit experience (approximately 3 hours of online learning). You will learn about about different types of drysuits, their components, maintenance, and storage and learn about how to manage a new buoyancy system. You'll be introduced to the potential risks of drysuit diving and learn the techniques to handle and avoid these risks.

• Confined Water Training: You will participate in an orientation to the drysuit in the pool and will perform the following:

  • Fitting and installing drysuit seals 
  • Donning and Doffing the undergarments and drysuit
  • Learning proper inflation/deflation techniques and learning how the valves operate
  • Learning how to manage your buoyancy effectively
  • Managing risk and avoiding runaway ascents

• Open Water Training: Complete 2 drysuit dives in open water with an instructor applying practical learnings from the confined water portion to real world dives.

The course cost includes the eLearning, all the scuba kit rental gear needed (drysuit, undergarments, boots, drysuit hose, BCD, Regulator, Computer, Tanks & Weights) all course tuition, and your certification fees and eCard. Does not include personal gear consisting of scuba rated mask, snorkel, and fins. Students are required to purchase their own personally fitted drysuit seals, but drysuits are provided from our rental fleet.  All Students receive 10% off gear purchased in the shop and includes a personal fitting.
